What is an "Ubergeek"?
The Ubergeek Bible was one of those after midnight, random ideas that start as a simple nothing and turns into something unexpected. I can't even begin to tell you how it happened; all I know is some how, actor Denny Grinar started telling the story of Noah in computer geek terms, culminating in the Lord hitting control-alt-delete. Just that quickly, a short film idea was born.
We filmed the first Ubergeek video soon after, and the film made its way onto our website (via youtube) and the Holy Shorts DVD. It even became a hit with a church in England. Then one day, an email arrived from the IT department at Wycliffe Bible Translators, asking if they could use the video for recruiting purposes.
The Ubergeek Bible has become a theme for the Wycliffe IT department's recruiting efforts. We are proud to play a small part in assisting them with finding "ubergeeks" who will help translate the gospel until it is available in every tongue!
