John
Cosper
didn't choose drama ministry; his youth pastor chose it for him.
When the
youth sponsor dropped the ball on building the new youth drama team, John
stepped in and wrote a skit. Then he wrote another. Then another. Next
thing he knew, the acting class dropout was put in charge of the youth drama
team.
John spent
the next seven years leading the youth drama program at his home church. After
a year leading drama for Youth for Christ in Louisville, KY, he formed the
Righteous Insanity touring company. The touring company performed for
churches, youth conferences, and other ministries for the next several years.
Today, John continues to lead drama at Silver Street United Methodist
Church and after school for Christian Academy of Indiana.
John founded
Righteous Insanity in June of 1994 as a way to assist others looking for
quality drama scripts. What started with a catalog of 33 skits has grown to
more than 1000 skits and plays for
ministry. John also has two drama books and more than 100 skits in
print through major publishers, and in 1997 he won the Christians in Theatre
Arts Dramatic Sketch Writing contest for the script "Wicked
Ruler."
John also
writes for publishers, film makers, and television producers around the world.

Righteous
Insanity also has a film site,
featuring dozens of original, short films produced by Righteous Insanity that
can be used in your ministry. Most films on the site are accompanied by
a devotional you can use or adapt, and all of the films posted online are

When he’s not writing or directing,
he spends his time with his wife Jessica, his daughter Lydia, and his son Sam.
