Facade

Did you ever wonder who the model in the clothing store window is in real life? Probably not but this full length play asks the question anyway. The play features seven short stories and seven different ideas of who the model might be, as imagined by folks passing by in the mall. In the first story, "Jade," a young woman visits a photo shoot, where the model?s physical beauty is marred by a squeaky voice. "Monique" tells the story of a model whose out of control life style has made her fodder for tabloids. In "Angelica," the model becomes a wicked vamp who is murdered for her nastiness. "Aurora" is the leader of a vast female conspiracy dedicated to keeping all men subservient to women. "Tricia" is another troubled young woman being treated for an eating disorder. "Famke" is a broken hearted Scandinavian beauty who falls for an average dumpy guy. The final model, "Nicole," is a very real, authentic young woman who shares kindness and a Christian faith with everyone she meets. A fun play with both drama and sometimes outrageous humor that explores themes regarding the masks people wear and the way we judge others by their appearance. Cast: Minimum of 12, maximum of 42 (Each story has six parts: the "dreamer", the model, and four supporting characters. The same actors can play the model and four supporting roles in each scene, with seven different actors and actresses playing the dreamers, or more cast members can be assigned to the supporting roles.) $20 royalty fee is also due if the play is performed.

Verdict

Following a shooting at their school, seven students find themselves in a room awaiting their judgment. The victims are pleased when the first one judged, their killer, is sent to Hell. Then comes the realization that some will follow: the new age believer; the one who never took religion seriously; even some who have been in church all their life. A powerful play about the urgency not only to accept Christ, but to share His love with others before it's too late. Cast: 5 males, 5 females. $20 royalty fee due if the play is performed.

The War

Maggie is a young single mother living in the inner city, trying to raise her daughter Chloe in the best environment possible. But after her boyfriend Mike leads police to her apartment and gets arrested for drugs, Maggie is faced with the possibility of losing her daughter in the courts. A Christian case worker named Jessie is assigned to help Maggie, and dedicates herself to not only keeping Maggie and Chloe together, but leading Maggie to Christ. Mike has his own problems, as he himself hunted by an angry drug dealer whom Mikes owes a lot of money. The stories of Maggie and Mike are paralleled by the stories of angels, who hope to keep Maggie and her daughter together, and to see Mike and Maggie accept Christ. But the angels have foes of their own to contend with, demons who will stop at nothing to destroy Maggie, Mike, Chloe, and Jessie. A powerful depiction of the spiritual warfare that takes place in the world around us.
