ABOUT THE PLAYS

Adam’s Letter is a work of fiction. There is no such person as Adam, nor is the author aware of this sort of story ever happening in real life. And no, Adam Krieger was not the inspiration for Blink 182's song "Adam's Song," or vice versa. Any resemblance between the characters, places, and events to any real people is purely coincidental.

The underlying theme of this play is the idea of community, getting young people to see the need to put their differences aside and care for one another. Our biggest problem is not drugs, depression, suicide, premarital sex, teen pregnancy, or any one social problem. It's a lack of love for one another. I hope this play will inspire young and old to take an interest in those around them. Only by opening our eyes can we stop our friends and classmates from taking a path from which there is no return.

Adam's Legacy was written in response from a mom who read the first play. While Adam's Letter was aimed at teens and encouraging them to love each other, one significant source of help was left out: the parents. Many of the characters did not have that option open to them, and neither do a lot of real kids. Adam's Legacy zooms in on one such family where the parents have not been there. It demonstrates the importance of family support and shows how God can make a difference, even in hard times.

These plays are available FREE OF CHARGE for schools, churches, and any organization that wants to make a difference in the lives of teenagers. The plays can be performed together or separately. An ideal use would be to feature Letter during school for students and Legacy in the evening for families. It's entirely up to you how and where they are performed.

In addition to the plays, I created this website, AdamsLetter.com. The website not only features production information, but both play scripts, Adam’s letter, and links and resources for students and adults who need answers to tough questions after the play is done. If the play touched you in some way and led you here seeking answers, I pray one of the resources on this website will help you.

If you decide to produce the play, or if you would like to share a story, a prayer concern, or additional links, please email me.

VIDEO WANTED

We get a lot of requests from people who want to see the play online. We are looking for someone who has produced either play that has a video of the production we can add to the website. It doesn't have to be professional quality so long as you can see and hear the play fairly well. We will gladly give full credit and links to the church or group that sends us a copy. Please email us if you can help.
